Discharge Planning:

The goal of HOPE is to return each resident to his own home or foster home. This process begins at admission. If the resident is unable to return to his own home, Bashor Children's Home will assist in finding appropriate foster family care. Holy Cross Counseling Group and Oaklawn Psychiatric Center will provide individual, family and group follow-up services.

Program Features:

Individual and group therapy provided by Holy Cross Counseling Group utilizing the relapse prevention model and a cognitive behavioral approach.

Individual, family and group therapy provided by Oaklawn Psychiatric Center therapists, focusing on building skills necessary to return the child to his own home, foster home, or community based placement.

Students are educated in a small classroom setting with a licensed teacher. Instruction focuses on academic performance and developing behavioral skills to return resident to a less restrictive educational program.

Recreation includes individual and small group activities focusing on the development of individual physical and social skills, group responsibility and leadership.

Psychiatric services regularly monitor psychotropic drugs and psychiatric evaluations as needed.
